We are a former bookmobile turned art studio, based in the Triangle of North Carolina offering workshops in printmaking, mixed-media and watercolor. Come ROAM with us and find your inner artist!

ROAM is an art studio and workshop space located inside the old Wake County bookmobile. We specialize in printmaking, watercolor and mixed-media, but dabble in other art adventures and have made our home-base at The Plant in Pittsboro, NC.

We have pop-ups where you can drop +offer 1, 2 and 4-hour workshops, along with private lessons.

Book us for your next family or friend get-together, date night, bachelorette party, baby shower, birthday gathering, company cookout and more.

ROAM: Surface Treatment Workshop
$35.00

In this 1-hour workshop, students will learn and practice several different surface treatments for designing unique papers which can then be used as backgrounds for artworks, in the creation of collages, as wrapping paper and more. Suminagashi (a Japanese-style marbling), paste-paper and more to be demonstrated.

*Price listed is per student. There is a 4-person minimum on all classes. Payment is due on site, at start of class.

PRESS: Linocut Printing
$55.00

In this 2-hour workshop, students will use a variety (75+) of handmade linocuts (stamps) in the creation of a unique t-shirt, tote or flour-sac kitchen towel.

PAINT: Watercolor Pet Portraits
$85.00

In this 4-hour workshop, students will learn the basics of watercolor painting and create a personalized pet portrait.

*Students should bring several portraits to choose from. Portraits in which your pet is featured close-up will be easier to work with. 6” x 9,” 5” x 7,” or 8” x 8” photocopies of those portraits will work best as we will use transfer paper to directly copy the images onto the watercolor paper.

*Price listed is per student. There is a 4-person minimum on all classes. If your group is paying separately, please make a note of this in the email.
